The basic idea behind lattice gas methods is that the simple dynamics of
lattice gas particles can describe complex systems. In this paper, a new
lattice gas model for one-dimensional (1-D) sound wave propagation will be
demonstrated. The particles move at either unit or zero velocity, and there is
no interaction between them. The present model leads to a 1-D sound wave system
with speed of sound M/N (M, N=integers; 0
