Abstract:

Scattered acoustic pressure fields are obtained when two concentric free-flooded cylindrical shells of finite lengths are subjected to plane waves incident obliquely to the axis of the cylindrical shells. Integral equations are formulated for the elastic thin shells with simply supported boundary conditions at both ends. Near- and far-field acoustic pressures of the scattered sound are calculated. Effects of acoustic coupling between two shells on scattering of sound are studied.
