Description of the Workshop
---------------------------
Auditory display encompasses research on sonification, the
sound equivalent of data visualization, as well as computer
interfaces, multimedia, virtual reality, and high-dimensional
simulations.  continuing the work of the successful ICAD '92
meeting, ICAD '94 is a forum for presenting cutting-edge
research in the field.  Focus will be on auditory displays,
and the array of perception, technology, and application
areas these encompass.  Topics will include auditory
exploration of data via sonification and audification; sound
in immersive interfaces and teleoperation; real-time
monitoring of multivariate data; and data handling and sound
synthesis for auditory display systems.  Hardware and
software demos.  Attendance is open to all, with no
membership or affiliation requirements.

The conference will be held at the Eldorado Hotel, 309 W. San
Francisco Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1-800-955-4455.

Registration
------------
Conference registration fees include all sessions, special
events, and conference proceedings.  The fee for corporate
and academic participants is $300 ($325 after September 15).
The fee for students and postdoctoral fellows is $150 ($175
after September 15).

Cancellations received by October 15 will receive full
refunds.  There will be a $25 processing fee for
cancellations received after that date.

Hotel Accommodations
--------------------
A block of rooms is reserved for workshop participants at the
Eldorado Hotel.  The group rate is $95+tax per night.  For
reservations, please call the hotel's reservation office at

and request the group rate for ICAD.  Rooms
will be available at this rate ONLY until September 23.
Those of you planning to arrive on Saturday will find that
 the Eldorado does not have any rooms available for Saturday
 night, November 5th.  The Hotel Santa Fe is holding rooms
 for the group for Saturday night until September 23rd at a
$79 rate.  They will provide transportation to the Eldorado

About Santa Fe
--------------
Santa Fe is a lovely, small city located at an altitute of
7,000 feet in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  A town
of 55,000 people, it is renowned for its beauty, art,
culture, museums and restaurants.  Early November
temperatures will range from 27 to 55 degrees.

Transportation
--------------
Shuttlejack (a bus service) provides daily ground
transportation at regularly scheduled intervals between
Albuquerque International Airport and most hotels in downtown
Santa Fe, at a one-way fare of $20.  Reservations are
