Leicester, LE1 7RH, UK

THREE-YEAR PhD STUDENTSHIP

A three-year PhD studentship is available in the "Speech and Hearing"
group at the University of Leicester. The studentship, which is
available for UK or EU nationals only (sorry!), includes payment
of all University tuition fees for the three-year period. A maintenance
allowance (currently 4720 pounds per year: under review) is also provided.
Prospective candidates should have a First Class or Upper Second Class
degree in an appropriate subject. Previous programming experience
(preferably in C++), and an interest in speech and hearing will be
an advantage.

The successful applicant will join a very active and expanding group
involved mainly with the computer simulation of human auditory
processing. The particular project is concerned with the simulation
of auditory brainstem responses, and is likely to involve collaboration
with clinical staff working at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The studentship will begin in September, 1995, or as soon as possible
thereafter.
