              THREE-YEAR POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE

A postdoctoral position is available at Cambridge to work on a project
entitled "Temporal processing in pitch perception and concurrent sound
segregation". The position is for a fixed term of three years and is funded
by a grant awarded by the Wellcome Trust to Prof. B.C.J. Moore, in
collaboration with Dr. R.P. Carlyon. The salary will depend on the age and
experience of the successful applicant, who will probably have completed
his or her Ph.D. within the last two to three years. Salaries paid by the
Wellcome trust are linked to those paid by U.K. Research Councils and
Universities, but are, on average, about 2000 pounds higher. The position
is available from February 1st 1996.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have a Ph.D in
psychoacoustics or a related discipline. Ideally, he or she will have some
experience in the field of pitch perception and/or concurrent sound
segregation, but applications from those with proven ability in any area of
the field are encouraged. The ability to program, set up, and run
psychoacoustical experiments is essential, and the appointee will be
expected to contribute to the design of new experiments as the need arises.
Informal queries and applications should be sent by either electronic or
regular mail to Dr. Carlyon at the address below.
