break-point at 170 Hz ?
Dear readers of the list: In speech pitch data (fundamental frequency f0) I found preliminary evidence that the human auditory system may process pitch < 170 Hz differently from pitch > 170 Hz. The effect was independent of sex. Question: Has anybody come across or heard of results, either psychoacoustical or physiological, that may be relevant to a possible break point in human pitch perception at ~ 170 Hz ? |
