Re: On the Grammar of Music

I'm sure there's a good answer to this and would be grateful for someone
pointing it out, but what's wrong wiht saying that the grammar/rules concern
how we hear music not how it is produced. That's what Lerdahl and Jackendoff
said:

"a generative grammar of music htat relates the aural surface of a piece to
the musical structure unconsciously inferred by the experienced listener."
