you need to discover heat shrinking tubing. This can protect your connection.
When buying wire, it is usually purchased in 1000 ft rolls. Thus you need to find
someone to give you the small amount you need. Or you can go to a larger manuf
of wire and ask for free samples. They are happy to send you free samples once you
identify what you want.
