IMHO there are plenty of quite viable alternatives, e.g. Peltor Tactical Surround which provides active hearing protection electronically. See for example www.peltor.se for more details. I would agree that it feels quite different to play with headphones or hearing protectors, but it's a matter of learning and adaptation. /Mikael
