AW: Categorical perception

Hello Andy and List,

The following paper is relevant in this context, I think:

Donald E. Hall and Joan Taylor Hess,
"Perception of Musical Interval Tuning",
Music Perception 2 (1984) 166-195.

The timbre of the used harmonic complex tones was
"closer to an oboe than to a flute".

Are there any papers which examine categorical perception
(identification and discrimination) for pitch intervals using
musical tones with harmonic spectra?
Burns and Ward's Categorical Perception JASA 63(2) Feb 1978
examines only pure tones.
