Re: Musical vs everyday listening

Responding rather late to the everyday vs musical discussion, list members might
be interested to look at Nicola Dibben's Musicae Scientiae paper 'What do we
hear when we hear music?' - Mus Sci vol 5 161-194 which has theoretical
discussion and empirical work about this issue; and also my book 'Ways of
Listening: an ecological approach to the perception of musical meaning', which
in takes up this question in various ways.
