The University of Manchester

Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences

School of Psychological Sciences

Lecturer in Hearing Science (Ref: MHS/024/07)

Salary range £29,138 - £40,335 p.a.

The Audiology and Deafness research group in the School of Psychological Sciences is a leading group in the UK for applied research in audiology and deafness. Following a new Chair appointment in Applied Hearing Research, we seek to strengthen this area further with an appointment at lecturer level to help take forward exciting new research aimed at improving outcomes for hearing impaired people.

The group also delivers teaching programmes in audiology and deaf education, and contributes teaching to the Psychology programmes in cognate areas such as auditory perception. You would join other members of the team in teaching and administrative duties.

A background or experience in one of the following areas would be advantageous: cochlear implants, signal processing, electrophysiology, or neural imaging. You should possess a PhD in a relevant discipline, and will have a developing track record of peer-reviewed publications and evidence of your potential to obtain external research funding.

The appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced CRB disclosure.
