A while ago someone posted a request for easily produced audible illusions:
Place two speakers so the centers are about 8" apart. Play a mono-phonic signal, music ect. Listen directly in front of the speakers, about 5' away.
Shifting the listening position 5-12" left or right will produce the illusion that the sound source is at a position far (5 - 6') to the left or right of the speakers.
