Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position to work on sound and speech perception by hearing-impaired listeners in complex listening environments. The research in our lab focuses on identifying problems that hearing-impaired listeners encounter in daily life, with the ultimate goal of proposing solutions to these problems. We work closely with users of hearing aids and cochlear implants, as well as the manufacturers of these devices.

The research is conducted in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the University Medical Center Groningen and the PhD program is for 4 years.

Individuals with a background in a related field (such as engineering, audiology, neuroscience, psychology) and who are interested in working with people are invited to apply.  If interested please contact me at d.baskent@xxxxxxxxxxx with a copy of your CV, the names of three references, and a one-page personal statement.

Thank you,
