Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University



The Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science is focused on scholarly
research in laboratory and/or clinical settings.  It can involve
various aspects of human communication and its associated disorders,
and can cover the lifespan from infancy to elderly.  Specific areas
include hearing, speech recognition & production, language development
& literacy, language processing, and neurogenic disorders.

The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State
University has opportunities for individuals seeking the Ph.D.  We
offer a rich environment for research and an 80-year tradition of
excellence.  We welcome applications from individuals with experience
in audiology and speech-language pathology, as well as, those from
related disciplines.  Many researchers from related departments at OSU
and beyond serve as Adjunct Professor in the Department.  These
individuals are an important part of our faculty and serve to provide
additional breadth.
