Signal processing research internship positions avail for Summer and Fall 2011



Starkey Laboratories, Inc., an equal opportunity employer and a recognized world leader in providing the highest quality hearing technology available, has an exciting opportunity for 2 internship positions for Summer and Fall of 2011 at its international headquarters located in Minnesota, USA. This position will have a chance to work with a group of talented signal processing and hearing science researchers to develop signal processing algorithms for hearing aids.

 

Qualifications

A graduate student with an excellent academic standing in electrical engineering, computer science or related field is strongly encouraged to apply. Research experience in hearing aids or cochlear implants is highly desirable. Research experience in audio signal processing algorithms, psychoacoustics or acoustics is a plus.

 

Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Proficiency in Matlab is required
  • Proficiency in C or C++ is required
  • Proficiency in advanced signal processing theory is required
  • Familiarity with speech analysis, microphone array processing, adaptive filtering and audio classification algorithms is a plus
  • Proficiency in real-time DSP programming is highly desirable
