Call for participation: Groove Workshop, 13th October, 2012, Porto, Portugal

Dear Auditory list,

I would like to bring to your attention a half-day workshop on the "Multidisciplinary Aspects of Groove in Music" which will take place on Saturday 13th October 2012 (afternoon, 14:30-18:30). This is a satellite workshop scheduled to directly follow the main ISMIR conference (8th-12th October).

The workshop will take place at CITAR / School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), Porto, Portugal. (Note: this is the same venue as the other ISMIR satellite workshop on Computational Auditory Scene Analysis (CASA) approaches for Music Information Retrieval)

The workshop will feature four invited talks from distinguished researchers currently working on groove from the fields of music psychology, neuroscience, musicology and machine learning/signal processing. There will also be a poster session for which we solicit contributions on groove or more generally related to rhythm in music.

Invited speakers:
Guy Madison
(Umea University, Sweden)

Peter Vuust
(Aarhus University, Denmark)

Hans Zeiner-Henriksen and Anne Danielsen
(University of Oslo, Norway)

Michael Casey
(Dartmouth College, USA)

Registration:
The workshop will be *free* to attend, however space is limited, therefore registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, it is very important that you register ahead of time. In all likelihood, on-site registration won't be possible.
**Registration deadline: 14th September 2012.

For further information, including details on how to register and information regarding poster submission, please see the workshop website:
