The annual conference of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR) is the world's leading interdisciplinary forum on accessing, analyzing, and organizing digital music of all sorts. The ISMIR conference embraces the complexity and diversity of music by showcasing ideas and applications that enhance the way in which we interact with music. Centered around MIR, the conference aims to foster dialogue across disciplines by bringing together researchers, developers, educators, librarians, students and professionals, providing multifaceted interaction and cross-fertilization that will benefit a wide range of related fields.

All papers will go through a double-blind selection process with at least three reviewers per submission. Accepted papers will be designated by the Program Committee to be presented either as posters or as lectures. All accepted papers have the same status, assignment as poster or lecture is not indicative of the relevance or potential impact but on the type of content and way to better reach the intended audience.
Tutorials
==============================
The first day of ISMIR 2014 will consist of parallel sessions of tutorials, each lasting three hours and concentrating on a single topic. The tutorials are intended to provide a stimulating coverage of the topic appealing to a general audience.
The morning tutorials are:
Tutorial 1: "Why is Greek music interesting? Towards an ethics of MIR" by Andre Holzapfel and George Tzanetakis
Tutorial 2:"Musical structure analysis" by Meinard Mueller and Jordan Smith
The afternoon tutorials are:
Tutorial 3: "Jingju music: concepts and computational tools for its analysis" by Rafael Caro Repetto, Ajay Srinivasamurthy, Sankalp Gulati and Xavier Serra
Tutorial 4: "MiningSuite, a comprehensive framework for music analysis, articulating audio (MIRtoolbox 2.0) and symbolic approaches" by Olivier Lartillot
Late-Break, Demos, and Unconference
==============================
ISMIR2014 will hold present two consecutive special sessions ---Late-Breaking / Demo (LBD) and unconference--- in the afternoon of the last conference day (Friday). The LDB session is dedicated to the presentation of preliminary result, ideas, applications or system prototypes that are not yet fully formed nor systematically evaluated, but of interest to the MIR community. Additionally, ISMIR2014 will continue the recent trend of hosting an informal group discussion and brainstorming event, known as an "unconference," which offers the unique opportunity to foster engaging conversations and interactions among participants across a wide range of seniority and experience.
For the LBD submissions we will operate on a “first come, first served” policy and screen submissions for formatting compliance. Submissions that do not conform to the required format will be rejected. A maximum of thirty (30) works will be accepted, and therefore interested researchers should be prepared to submit work as early as possible. The LBD submission portal will be made available on July 1, 2014. Acceptance/rejection notifications will be sent to authors as submissions are screened. Note that at least one author of an accepted LBD abstract should present the poster at the session.
Call for Music Submissions

ISMIR 2014 will incorporate the 10th International Workshop of Computer Music and Audio Technology (WOCMAT 2014) to invite submissions of musical works for presentation at the workshop concerts. ISMIR/WOCMAT 2014 invites submissions of musical composition for evaluation and possible inclusion in the concert program. We encourage works with ISMIR/WOCMAT 2014 Theme “Oriental Thinking”, which can be related to any oriental elements in your works in wide range to submit. As the use of technology in music creation develops across composition and performance practices, structured data plays an increasingly important role in the processing of musical materials, their analysis and their manifestation in a live environment. The music program in the conference will be centered around one concert that will take place on October 29.
