The Communication Sciences Research Center (CSRC) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking applicants at the level of Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will be a key faculty member in CSRC, leading research in psychoacoustics and/or pediatric hearing, developing an extramurally funded research program in these or related areas, providing scientific leadership, mentorship and collaboration for the research programs of CSRC, and the Divisions of Audiology and Otolaryngology. The candidate must have a doctoral degree and post-doctoral experience with research in one or more areas of hearing, development, cognition, psychoacoustics, modeling, epidemiology, human physiology, human genetics, eye tracking and hearing devices. A strong publication record is required and a record of obtaining or applying for funding would be an advantage. Prior experience in pediatric research is preferred but not required. Experience in a clinical setting, industry or teaching would also be a plus. Overall scientific excellence will be the primary criterion for selection.
CSRC is a multidisciplinary department of CCHMC. Faculty engage in basic and applied research that has an end goal to improve outcomes for children and families. Current core faculty focus on hearing (Dave Moore, Lisa Hunter, Andrew Dimitrijevic), language and reading (Scott Holland, Tzipi Horowitz-Kraus), and voice (Dimitar Deliyski). The successful applicant will also collaborate with other scientists and researchers affiliated with CSRC, CCHMC and the University of Cincinnati. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications of the applicant. This person will be an employee of CCHMC with a faculty affiliation in one or more departments of the University of Cincinnati.
