Postdoctoral Position in Music and Emotional Speech in Hearing Impaired Listeners 


SMART Lab (Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada) and Sonova

Salary = 55,000 CAN$/year 

Expected Start date = Between July 1 and September 1, 2016

Duration = 2 years


Background: Research on hearing outcomes for individuals with hearing loss with and without hearing aids continues to focus on speech intelligibility. However, hearing aid users are increasingly interested in addressing all aspects of hearing, particularly those contributing to quality of life. This post-doctoral position will contribute to a program of research that considers the perception of emotional speech and music in hearing impaired and hearing aided listeners. Research methods will focus on cognitive and psychophysical testing, alongside of neural and physiological measures. Applicants must have received (or expect to receive) a PhD in psychology/neuroscience, audiology, or cognate discipline prior to September 2016, and not prior to September 2011.
