Eriksholm Research Centre, situated in Snekkersten, Denmark, is seeking to fill a vacant position of a Research Area Manager of our eHealth research team. Eriksholm Research Centre is part of Oticon A/S.

Eriksholm’s research has a strong international track record in applied science. We collaborate closely with leading universities around the world to find the best solutions for the hearing healthcare of the future. Our efforts aim at implementing clinical audiology solutions supported by electronic processes and communication. We focus on the needs of people with hearing impairment and clinicians. Our research does not only generate publications and patents, but also transforms the clinical practice and the operations of large health care providers. Our scientists are both academics, heavily engaged in research projects with and at universities worldwide and at the same time we are part of the Oticon R&D team, contributing to the product pipeline of William Demant.

Today Eriksholm’s research covers three major Research Areas: Cognitive Hearing Science, Augmented Hearing and eHealth.

 About the position

The Internet of Things, wearable sensors, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are today Megatrends driving complete industries. At the Eriksholm eHealth team, we study and apply these technologies for future applications relevant for people with hearing impairment as well as hearing care professionals. Our applications are evidence-based, clinically tested and aim at increasing the quality and cost-effectiveness of hearing care.

It is Eriksholm’s ambition to continue to be an international turning axis for research with the potential to benefit people with hearing impairment. We do this with our global network of leading academics and collaboration partners. Large parts of our research are “open science”, e.g. sponsored by EU Horizon2020 and different national research grants.

Your background
We are seeking candidates with a PhD degree in audiology, experimental psychology, cognitive science, data science, auditory neuroscience, biomedical engineering,  electrical engineering, physics, or a related discipline, who have an excellent research and publication record. A strong interest in interdisciplinary and application-oriented work, familiarity with applied clinical research, as well as good English language skills are required. Apart from initiating cutting-edge research leading to patents and journal publications, the eHealth Research Area Manager is part of the Eriksholm Management Team and manages the staff of the eHealth research group.

People management, stakeholder management, networking on a global scale are important skills.

Creating traction, a compelling vision and agile leadership in your research area and transforming academic insights into attractive future business opportunities will be important capabilities.

This full-time position (37 hours/week) is available from February 2018. Salary will be according to qualifications and experience. The position is based at the Eriksholm Research Centre, Denmark.
