[AUDITORY] Research Assistant Position at NTID/RIT



Research Assistant (Cognitive Science), RIT/NTID

The deafxlab (http://www.deafxlab.com) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to work on an NIH-funded project examining cognition and language in deaf and hard-of-hearing college students. The successful applicant will:
  • communicate clearly and effectively with young deaf adults who use a range of communication modes including American Sign Language (ASL), Signed English and spoken English
  • administer tests of language and cognition, ensuring that participants fully understand the instructions
  • maintain accurate records of research activities, and ensures the quality of the data collected
The following are minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
  • at least one year’s experience in administering standardized clinical tests of cognition and language ability
  • knowledge of American Sign Language and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse population of young deaf adults
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Psychology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Education, or related discipline
