Dear Sonification Community, The Ocean Memory Project invites you to a virtual zoom workshop "Sound as reflective of ocean memory: Ecoacoustics, audification and sonification" on Saturday, March 13th from Noon- 3pm Pacific/3-6pm Eastern. The workshop will focus on the potential of sound to capture and express ocean memories through audification and sonification. We invite musicians, data and sound artists, marine scientists, and anyone in related areas. All levels of experience in sound and acoustics are welcome. The draft agenda is available here. Please RSVP by email to oceanmemoryproject@xxxxxxxxx by Monday, March 1st to be included on future communications and receive the Zoom link for the session. Participants will be invited to join a follow-up workshop on March 26. Resulting data-expressive and/or creative products will be shared and possibly added to a virtual concert on April 9. Data sets and freely available software tools will be made available to registrants prior to the workshop. Participants are welcome to begin to experiment with these before and after the workshop.
