[AUDITORY] Post-doc position available: Modulating speech perception with transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS)

Dear colleagues,

we have a post-doc position available - see details below. Please share with everyone who might be interested!

Many thanks,

Benedikt Zoefel

--------------------------------------

We are looking for a post-doc to work with us at the Centre de Recherche de Cerveau et Cognition (CerCo) in Toulouse, France. The project will be led by Dr Benedikt Zoefel and funded by the Fondation pour l’Audition.

The successful applicant will apply state-of-the-art methods (tACS in combination with EEG or fMRI) to examine neural and behavioural effects of tACS, with the ultimate aim of transforming tACS into an established technique to enhance speech perception. The successful applicant will join a lively research institute in a thriving city in Southern France and have the opportunity to collaborate with other international experts (Dr Matthew Davis, Cambridge; Dr Stefanie Enriquez-Geppert, Groningen).

Applicants should hold a PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, hearing science, engineering or similar. They must have excellent programming (MATLAB, Python or similar) and signal processing skills. Experience with transcranial brain stimulation or EEG, and a background in research on neural oscillations, are not strictly necessary, but highly appreciated.

The position is scheduled to start in mid-November 2021. It will initially run for 10.5 months, with the possibility to be extended for another 2 years. The salary depends on experience and will be determined following CNRS guidelines.

To apply, upload a CV, including the name of two potential references, and a summary of research interests (< 1 page) here: https://bit.ly/3hM2ZtU

Review of applications will begin on 23rd August 2021 (the link above might show an earlier deadline which will be extended). Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

For more information or questions, please contact Benedikt Zoefel (benedikt.zoefel at cnrs.fr).
