 The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in speech language pathology or audiology (https://csd.wisc.edu/). This is an academic (9-month) faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: language disorders, and/or literacy, fluency disorders, cleft palate/craniofacial disorders, voice disorders, motor speech disorders and phonological/speech sounds disorders. The position carries a commitment to the three functions of research, instruction, and outreach/service, as appropriate to the position and rank. UW-Madison is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Degree and area of specialization: Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Developmental/Experimental Psychology, Linguistics, Cognitive/behavioral neuroscience, or a related field. 

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: prior teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must show potential for developing outstanding and highly visible scholarly research as well as excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Appointment with tenure requires review by the Biological Sciences Divisional Committee or Social Sciences Divisional Committee. Principal duties: 1) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders in areas appropriate to candidate’s interests and background, as well as in areas of departmental needs. 2) Establish and conduct independent, active research program in areas of specialization. 3) Proactively support the expansion of diversity in the department, and ensure an inclusive, fair, and equitable environment that promotes engagement. 4) Mentor Ph.D. students. 5) Advise students in undergraduate, masters and/or Ph.D. degree programs in academic and research areas. 6) Perform departmental, university and professional service and university committees as appropriate for career stage.
