[AUDITORY] Timbre 2023 & Summer School - SAVE THE DATE

Dear all

[apologies for multiple postings, please distribute widely]

We are excited to pre-announce that the 3rd International Conference on Timbre, will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, 10–12 July 2023. It will be hosted by the School of Music Studies and the Cognitive and Computational Musicology Group at the Artistotle University of Thessaloniki.

Timbre 2023 will include the first ever Summer School on Timbre and Orchestration, an initiative of the ACTOR Partnership. The summer school will take place 8–12 July 2023.

Participants will be instructed by world-class experts and will get a chance to apply what they learn in guided discussions during the Timbre 2023 conference.

More details and a call for papers will be announced soon. Save the dates and stay tuned!

There’s more:

The scientific discourse on timbre has been gaining momentum since the mid 2010s from audio acoustics and music cognition to sound design and artificial intelligence. Following the Berlin Interdisciplinary Workshop on Timbre (2017) and the international conferences Timbre is a Many-Splendored Thing (2018) and Timbre 2020, we are pleased to announce the triennial International Conference on Timbre. Establishing a periodic gathering will help forge more solid bonds among the members of the emerging cross-disciplinary community.
