[AUDITORY] packages for beam steering design

Dear list,

I am looking for a convenient tool to aid me in the general design of a directional sound source based on a loudspeaker array beam steering.

My primary objective is not the design and optimisation of the loudspeaker array  per se. I just want to have a general idea of the performance of such a system with given geometrical constraints. So I was looking to fastrack this task.

(My main interest is to implement a source with equivalent directivity performance in a virtual environment to conduct experiments with participants.)

I have found mention of interesting MATLAB implementations, but no code was made available it seems:
https://www.mathworks.com/company/newsletters/articles/making-all-the-right-noises-shaping-sound-with-audio-beamforming.html
and
https://www.mathworks.com/content/dam/mathworks/mathworks-dot-com/solutions/automotive/files/de-expo-2015/simulation-and-parameterization-of-sound-beamforming-for-loudspeaker-line-arrays-using-matlab.pdf

I ask you, if you would have any suggestions of  packages (preferably free for students / open-source) that deal with the design and optimisation of loudspeaker array beam steering.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Thank you
