[AUDITORY] Ph.D. Opportunity in Auditory Electrophysiology and Hearing Aid Research (Fall 2025 Start)



Dear Auditory List,

We are currently recruiting a Ph.D. student to join an exciting research program at the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR) under the supervision of Dr. Victoria Duda, Assistant Professor in Audiology at Université de Montréal.

Project Overview
The successful candidate will be involved in an innovative project exploring how electrophysiological measures can inform the optimization of hearing aid algorithms, with a particular focus on auditory timing and age-related cognitive decline. The long-term goal is to develop EEG-based individual metrics to improve speech understanding in noise and contribute to more inclusive hearing aid technologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Background in speech-language pathology, audiology, biomedical sciences, psychology (neuropsychology), or a related health science field
  • Research or clinical experience with human participants
  • Strong interest in auditory neuroscience and electrophysiology
  • Advanced proficiency in both French and English
  • Canadian citizenship, permanent residency in Quebec, or a valid student visa

Position Details

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Location: CRIR, 2275 Avenue Laurier Est, Montréal
  • Funding: Competitive stipend available based on provincial guidelines
