In response to the request about Psychology of Music courses, mine is not exactly on that topic, but on auditory perception. Here is the course information and a daily schedule. I hope it is helpful. Al Bregman ============================================================== COURSE INFORMATION Auditory Perception (204-501A) Revised May 10, 1991 Prerequisite: Undergraduate course in perception or permission of instructor Instructor: Albert S. Bregman Department of Psychology, Stewart Biology Building Room W8/33c, Telephone: 398-6103 Evaluation by letter grade, based on: 40% Final test 45% Project, including: (a) oral presentation, (b) written report OR computer/audio demonstration, (c) Xeroxed reading for class (due 2 weeks in advance). 15% Class participation Readings. Moore, B.C.J. An introduction to the psychology of hearing. Academic Press, 1982. (McLennan Library BF251 M66x 1989) Bregman, A.S. Auditory Scene Analysis. MIT Press: 1990. (McLennan Library QP465 B74 1990) Reprints of journal articles will be assigned by the instructor or by students doing projects. Xeroxes will be distributed in class. The following book contains related material and is on reserve in the Redpath Library: Handel, S. Listening. Cambridge, Mass: MIT Press, 1989. (McLennan Library BF251 H27 1989) Laboratory: Rooms W8/13-17. Students will be able to use it to prepare audio demonstrations if they choose that option as part of their project. It should be used at "off-peak" hours, whenever possible. ============================================================== SCHEDULE OF TOPICS - FALL 1991 Psychology 204-501A Auditory Perception Rev.
