Hello, I wonder if anyone has a standard formula they use to model roughly V-shaped VIII nerve tuning curves. My problem is, I guess, that they are only roughly V-shaped. I work on barn owls, and I have gleaned values for Q10dB, Q40dB, high frequency and low frequency slopes (assuming linearity) from the paper by Christine Koppl (J Neurophys '97). However, because the arms of the 'V' are not linear, using the slopes to construct a tuning curve results in too high a Q-value. So I wonder how others deal with this problem. Thanks for you time. kip keller
