Post-doctoral position in auditory neuroscience 'Neuronal correlates of across frequency processing in the auditory system' The Centre for the Neural Basis of Hearing in the Physiology Department of the University of Cambridge invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral position to study the neuronal mechanisms involved in across-frequency processing. (The position arises through the departure of Dr Daniel Pressnitzer to a permanent position with the CNRS in IRCAM, Paris.) The research is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is an collaborative study between physiologists and computer modellers (Prof.Ray Meddis at Essex University). The applicant would work closely with Dr I M= =20 Winter on the physiology in Cambridge.=20 Applicants should possess, or expect soon to possess, a Ph.D or equivalent degree in physiology, psychoacoustics, physics, engineering or computer science. Ideally, they should have post-graduate training in auditory neuroscience and/or computer science.=20 The appointment will be for two years at a salary based on the national salary scale for post-doctoral scientists (=A316,286 to =A324,479) with the starting salary dependent upon age and experience. It will include an additional weighting from the Wellcome Trust dependent on the applicant's skills and experience.
