According to the ITU (see ITU-T P.861), background noise typically has a "Hoth" spectrum: D. Hoth, "Room noise spectra at subscriber's telephone locations", JASA V12 pp499-504 April 1941 Of course this was in the last centry, before the intrusion of mobile phones etc. Mike -- ************************************************************ Mike Brookes, EEE Dept, Imperial College, London SW7 2BT, UK Tel: +44 (0) 171-594-6165 Fax: +44 (0) 171-823-8125 Email: mike.brookes(at)ic.ac.uk WWW: http://www.ee.ic.ac.uk/hp/staff/dmb/dmb.html
