Those of us who are blind or otherwise reading disabled find the idea of open access to materials particularly appealing since very few journal materials are either accessible in alternative formats or even reasonably easily read by an average reader. It seems somehow too expensive to pay a reader $20 an hour to read journals which take hours for even single issues.
