Hello list, I am playing with some bass line generation in my spare time and was wondering wether anyone could specify a good formula for calculating octaves of a specified frequency ? I know a simple formula which doesn't account for octave stretching is : o = 2^(n) f where f is the specified frequency, n is the octave >0 for higher octaves and <0 for lower octaves i.e. ... -2, -1, 1, 2, ... and 'o' is octave frequency. thanks -- Matt Common computer data descriptions.... bit lick nibble byte
