Torres, Ph.D. Program in Architectural Acoustics Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) http://www.arch.rpi.edu/acoustics/ rrtorres(at)rpi.edu ------------------------------- Faculty Positions: Architectural Acoustics The School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is currently seeking applications for two tenure-track and/or tenured positions, at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning in August 2003. Architectural Acoustics: The interdisciplinary Program in Architectural Acoustics is a graduate-level educational and research program whose primary aim is to benefit society through teaching and applied architectural acoustics research. The Program benefits greatly from the rich diversity of talent at Rensselaer and collaborates with other researchers in the Schools of Engineering, Science, Mathematics, and the Arts. The Program is seeking applicants with research experience and/or applied (e.g., consulting) experience in the following areas: room and building acoustics, concert-hall design and consulting, acoustical measurement technique, computational acoustics, signal processing/visualization, auralization, electroacoustics and active enhancement systems, and psychoacoustics and human performance. Candidates should preferably have a Ph.D., a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, and publications in refereed scientific journals. Candidates should show a spirit of openness to collaboration and an enthusiasm for the educational and research aims of the Program in Architectural Acoustics. Candidates should have good written and oral communication skills. Candidates should also submit their plans for developing funded research areas in architectural acoustics and/or other related areas.
