I suggest that there should be a validation study associated with the new SII standard. This could be something like the report published by Kryter that was associated with ANSI S3.5-1969 (Kryter, KD, 1962, Validation of the Articulation Index, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, vol. 34, no. 11, 1698-1702).
