Gil Magilen of Hearing Centers Network has asked that I post to the Auditory List his formal response to the Etymotic and Gudhear FDA petitions that was published on the FDA web site this past February. His response, entitled "FDA Oversight of Hearing-Aid Technology Should Be Strengthened Not Weakened – Comments Opposing the Etymotic and Gudhear Petitions," provides a cogent argument for stricter oversight of hearing-aid technology and the methods by which such devices are fit to the patient.
