Claire, Testing conducted by audiologists may use a wide variety of stimuli including, pure tones, single words in quiet, narrow band noise, broad band noise, sentences in quiet, sentences in noise, frequency modulated tones, clicks, tone pips...it all depends on the clinical questions being asked. My sister has a tinnitus and the same test is presented to her when she visits the audiologist. Now my question is : Do you make use of other sounds than pure tones and single words, is there an alternative. And if not why? Thanks you very much for answering my question. Claire Piché
