Dear listeners, I'm an undergraduate student in Montreal, Canada, and am writing some software to estimate formant frequencies in recordings of vocal music. So that I know what to expect from my program, I was wondering if anyone might know the values of typical formant frequencies for sung German vowels. Is anyone aware of a study or paper dealing with this sort of thing? Excepting the "singer's formant", are sung vowels known to have different frequency characteristics from spoken vowels?
