The studentship is generously supported by the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) with an annual stipend of =A314,965. The project will study the bases of difficulties in spatial hearing for speech in older adults using psychoacoustical techniques and magnetoencephalography. The studentship would be suitable for a person who has, or who will soon obtain, a good degree (first class or upper second) in psychology, audiology, physics, or a related discipline, who has good quantitative skills, who is interested in auditory neuro-imaging, and who would be outgoing in recruiting and working with older adult participants.
