Hello, I have a question regarding binaural masking level difference (BMLD). For NoSm condition, are there any studies that show the effect of varying noise level at the ear with signal? That is, keeping noise level on one side constant and varying the noise level on the other side (the signal side). Thanks, Xuejing Xueling - Relevant, but not exactly the BMLD experimental protocol, is a series of experiments by M.M. Taylor and a series of associates on MDCC: Monaural Detection with Contralateral Cue. All were published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. These experiments talk to the necessary levels of S/N ratios in binaural detection tasks. Good luck, Doug -- C.
