Richard ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER FACULTY OF MEDICAL AND HUMAN SCIENCES SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCES CHAIR IN APPLIED HEARING RESEARCH (REF: MHS/069/06) Salary will be by negotiation on the professorial scale The University of Manchester aims to strengthen its considerable international reputation in hearing, audiology and deafness research by appointing a new chair in Applied Hearing Research. The successful applicant will have an international research profile in the field of audiology, psychoacoustics, or hearing science, or in cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology (or other area of psychology) as applied to hearing and hearing loss. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and innovative individual to make a major contribution to the strategic developments in the new School of Psychological Sciences and the Audiology and Deafness Research group in a leading University with an ambitious vision of its future. The appointee will have strategic vision and show strong academic leadership, with the ability to develop the School's current research profile and enhance the reputation of the School through promoting and delivering high quality research and teaching. The post is located within the School's Audiology and Deafness research group, and within the Human Communication and Deafness Division, which also includes the MRC Hearing and Communication Group; funding has been earmarked for a further academic post to support the research and teaching activities of the Chair.
