Marina Rose ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SCHOOL OF LIFE & HEALTH SCIENCES Aston University, Birmingham, U.K. Ref No. A06/194/98 Lecturer £26,402 to £38,772 (exceptionally to £42,367) pa Senior Lecturer £39,935 to £46,295 (exceptionally to £50,589) pa The School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University is seeking an enthusiastic audiologist/auditory scientist to take up the position of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Audiology. Aston University offers both undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in audiology and related fields and aims to be a centre of excellence for audiology teaching and research. Current auditory research at Aston is wide-ranging and includes cochlear implants, auditory scene analysis, binaural hearing, and speech perception, using a range of techniques including psychophysics and neuroimaging. A new clinical audiology research centre will become operational in 2006/7, and this centre will support research into improved patient outcomes in audiology, as well as supporting our taught programmes in audiology. The successful applicant will provide leadership in the development and delivery of educational programmes in audiology (Senior Lecturer), or have the potential and motivation to develop those leadership skills (Lecturer) and will bring or develop a supportive research programme. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a highly-motivated and successful multidisciplinary research team at an internationally competitive level. Applicants must have clinical qualifications in audiology and a PhD in hearing or balance science or a cognate area. The successful applicant will be a highly-motivated teacher and researcher and will be a good communicator and team player, as well as having a track record of successful leadership.
