Associate professor in Communication Acoustics and Audiology The department of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) offers a position as associate professor within the area of communication acoustics and audiology. Research and education are integrated in the activities of the internationally recognised Centre for Applied Hearing Research (CAHR). The vacant position is to be filled as soon as possible. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a solid scientific knowledge and research experience in at least one, and some experience in another of the following areas: - Auditory signal processing and perception - Development of computational models of auditory and speech processing - Audio/speech signal processing technology, such as audio coding, hearing aids, or automatic speech recognition - Advanced measurement techniques and acoustic signal processing, e.g., virtual reality auralisation - Subjective and objective room acoustics analysis and auditory processing of reverberant sounds The successful candidate shall participate in both the fundamental and advanced educations in cooperation with the other scientific staff, and the candidate must contribute actively to the theoretical and experimental research within the Centre. Date to take office: 1 November 2008 Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering, or a similar degree, and academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship. In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to: - scientific production and research potential - the ability to promote and utilize research results - experience in attracting and securing research funding - an all-round experience basis, preferable international experience - the ability to contribute to development of the department's internal and external cooperation - the ability to teach Applications, which should be submitted in English, must include a list of publications indicating scientific highlights and documentation for participation on teacher training course. Teaching materials and research publications to be considered in the assessment must be enclosed as well. The salary and appointment terms are negotiated in accordance with the current collective agreement for Danish University faculty members.
