The purpose of the MEMRO meeting is to bring together experts in =20 clinical otology, middle-ear scientists, and engineers, in order to =20 promote the discussion of ideas and the formation of cross-=20 disciplinary collaborations between these groups. The meeting will consist of two tutorials (=93Introduction to Otology=94 = =20 and =93Mechanics for the Middle ear=94), A keynote presentation (=93An =20= evolutionary perspective on middle ears=94), two panel discussions, a =20= three-day-long poster session, and sessions on the following topics: =20 Middle-Ear Physiology, Middle-Ear Hearing Aids, Diagnostic =20 Technologies, Passive Prostheses, Computational Models, Imaging =20 Technologies, Surgical Techniques, Bone Conduction, and Pressure =20 Regulation. Social activities will include a welcoming reception, a night out on =20 the town (Palo Alto), a dinner banquet at a local winery, a barbeque =20 dinner at the New Guinea Garden, and a day-long excursion to the =20 Monterey Bay.
