*********************************************************************************** Second Call for Papers Experimental Approaches to Perception and Production of Language Variation (ExAPP2010) Groningen, Netherlands, 11-12 November 2010 www.rug.nl/let/exapp2010 *********************************************************************************** Empirical approaches to the study of language variation and change can benefit largely from the accompaniment of systematic manipulation of variables in the research setting. The goal of ExAPP2010 is to gather scholars employing experimental methods to investigate linguistic variation. We welcome abstracts for posters and papers that cover aspects of variation on all linguistic levels, and the perception as well as the production thereof. These include, but are not limited to, the following topics: · Perception of variation · Production of variation · Social meaning of linguistic features · Language attitudes · (Mutual) intelligibility · Innovative methodologies Talks are 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. Abstracts should be approximately 300 words (excluding references) and may be submitted using EasyAbstracts provided by LinguistList (http://linguistlist.org/confcustom/ExAPP2010). Posters will be displayed throughout one day, and there will be a dedicated poster session.
