Let's use, say, piano, guitar, and maybe a woo= dwind. What is the analytic result (looking at the analytic envelopes of the sign= als) in terms of time offset (or not) that results in the notes being perc= eived as exactly simultaneous? First, with notes nearby (to get dL's) and then with widely spread notes (i= n frequency, not time), to get a sense of how the various bandwidths of the= cochlear filtering and the bandwidth of the instrument play off against ea= ch other. Interestingly I'm not actually aware of any clear results of this sort, alt= hough they may exist, I don't know of them. Has anyone heard of such a thing? jj __________________________ James D.
