Dear all, our group at the Freie University Berlin has open PhD and Postdoc positions for projects on the neural correlates of emotion during the aesthetic experience of music and literature (further info is pasted below). I would be grateful if you could forward this information to anyone who might be interested! Thanks, and best, Stefan ------------------------------------------------ PhD position: The Cluster of Excellence "Languages of Emotion" at the Freie University Berlin offers a Ph.D. position for a project on the neural correlates of emotion during the aesthetic experience of music and literature (led by Prof.Dr. Stefan Koelsch, Prof.Dr. Winfried Menninghaus and Prof.Dr. Arthur Jacobs). The primary method of this project is functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), in combination with peripheral physiological measures. We offer an exquisite neuroscience laboratory, an excellent team of researchers, and the opportunity for cutting-edge research. Requirements: Master degree or Diploma (either Literature or Psychology or a closely related discipline) Desired: Applicants should either have a strong background in literature (ideally with additional background in experimental psychology), or a strong psychological background (ideally with additional background in literature and/or music). Please send applications via email to me (stefan.koelsch@xxxxxxxx) or to the Freie Universität Berlin: Cluster Languages of Emotion Prof. Dr. Stefan Koelsch Habelschwerdter Allee 45 14195 Berlin ------------------------------------------------ PosDoc position: The Cluster of Excellence "Languages of Emotion" at the Freie University Berlin seeks for a Postdoctoral fellow for a project on the neural correlates of emotion during the aesthetic experience of music and literature. The primary method is fMRI, but EEG, NIRS, and TMS are also available at our institute. We offer an exquisite neuroscience laboratory, an excellent team of researchers, and the opportunity for cutting-edge research. Requirements: PhD degree Desired: - Strong skills in fMRI data evaluation are required, including functional connectivity analysis, parametric data analysis, and most preferably pattern classification analysis. - Applicants would ideally also have experience in the area of peripheral physiological measures (which will be obtained during the fMRI experiments of this project), and a scientific background in the areas of language, music, and/or emotion. Please send applications via email to me (stefan.koelsch@xxxxxxxx) or to the Freie Universität Berlin: Cluster Languages of Emotion Prof. Dr. Stefan Koelsch Habelschwerdter Allee 45 14195 Berlin ------------------------------------------------ Prof. Dr. Stefan Koelsch Cluster of Excellence “Languages of Emotion” Freie Universität Berlin Habelschwerdter Allee 45, 14195 Berlin Tel. +49 (0)30 - 838 57518 Fax. +49 (0)30 - 838 528 87
