(Apologies for multiple postings) Dear all, You are cordially invited to: CROSSING THE CORPUS CALLOSUM II: NEUROSCIENCE, HEALING, AND MUSIC A symposium hosted by the Longwood Symphony Orchestra and The Lab at Harvard EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION AND POSTER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2010 http://longwoodsymphony.org/neurosciencesymposium.html The symposium will take place on January 29, 2011, at Harvard University. We welcome research on any aspect of music and basic or clinical neuroscience, from disciplines including, but not limited to: music theory and composition, neuroscience, psychology, physical therapy and rehabilitation. Specific topics covered by the conference include: -Music and brain development -Music and autism -Music and rehabilitation We welcome abstracts in these areas as well as other topics which involve some intersection of neuroscience, medicine and music. Confirmed speakers include: Gottfried Schlaug, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School Nina Kraus, Northwestern University Laurel Trainor, McMaster University Nadine Gaab, Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School Arthur Bloom, Renovation in Music Education Poster submissions should include the presenter and co-authors' names, institutional affiliations, and title and abstract. Abstracts should be limited to 250 words. Please send abstracts to Michael Barnett (michael_barnett@xxxxxxxx) with the words "poster submission" in the subject line.
