We are now seekingto appoint a Research Associate to provide support to a= study funded by the NIHRNational Biomedical Research Unit in Hearing to = assess the effectiveness ofcognitive training to improve listening abilit= ies of adult hearing aid users.This project is led by Dr Helen Henshaw, R= esearch Fellow at the NIHR NationalBiomedical Research Unit in Hearing. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsiblefor undertaking and contributi= ng to specialised clinical and researchinvestigations in the HfHL area,in= cludingday-to-day studyplanning and administration, recruitment of partic= ipants, audiologicaland cognitive testing of adult participants with hear= ing loss; gathering highquality data, data entry, storage and back-up (ac= cording to data protectionguidelines). Candidates shouldhave a BSc in a relevant discipline, such as audiology o= r psychology, or an MScor other post-degree qualification (or equivalent)= in a subject relevant tohealth research. Training and skills inquantitat= ive research methods and analysis, a working knowledge of relevant IToper= ating systems and software packages, good data entry skills and the abili= tyto communicate on all levels across many areas are essential.Experience= working with elderly and/or peoplewith hearing impairment is desirable, = as is a working knowledge of ethicalconduct in research.
